Thueringer Wald. Popular hiking paths include the 4km (2.5m) hike to the
Watercastle in Mitwitz, and the 8km (5m) hike to Kronach.
Day excursions to the historic cities of Kronach, Coburg, Kulmbach,
Bayreuth, and Bamberg; the castles Mitwitz, Banz, Rosenberg, Lauenstein;
and the baroque church Vierzehnheiligen.
For relaxation and regeneration the thermal spas of Staffelstein and Bad Rodach are close by.
